Das "Portfolio Schulpädagogik" versteht sich als ein Arbeitsbuch für die grundlegenden schulpädagogischen Vorlesungen im Rahmen der Lehrerbildung.
Inhaltlich orientiert es sich an einem Konsens der universitären Modulstruktur aus allen Bundesländern und gliedert sich demzufolge in drei Bereiche: "Theorie und Empirie der Schule", "Theorie und Empirie des Unterrichts" (unterteilt in die Felder "Lernen", "Lehren" und "Lehrplan") und "Bildung, Erziehung, Unterricht".
